Manhood Resolution (2013)

The revised version of this Resolution is streamlined from the original version first launched on 1st July 2012 and declared by 600+ men at a prayer gathering called Men-in-Prayer 2012 organised by Men’s Ministry Network.   Our heartbeat is that this Resolution captures the essence of manhood as God intended for His men.  “Our” in the title reflects a band of brothers before God and together in loving accountability, declaring the Resolution.

Our Manhood Resolution : Guidelines

The 1st part of our Resolution seeks to provide the biblical basis upon which we declare the Resolution. It is our prayer we be reminded of the following as we contemplate the basis :

  1. There is an urgency for the unction for us to live as men of God.
  2. The Trinitarian Affirmation (ie the Initiative of God, the Finished Work of Christ and Empowering of the Holy Spirit) provides the foundational basis for our affirmation of this Resolution.
  3. Out of the Trinitarian affirmation is our calling, as a movement of godly men, to embrace its redemptive power, reach towards our redemptive destiny to fulfil the redemptive purposes of God which is to change the world for His glory.

The 2nd part of our resolution involves the resolutions themselves - various scriptures referenced are listed on our website at www.mensministrynetwork.org.sg.   We also suggest, for your prayerful consideration, some guidelines below as one possible way to creatively enhance the effective use of the Resolution :

  1. To declare our Resolution amidst other brothers, a pastor, spiritual leader, godly mentor, or a spiritually mature or older brother, for accountability and spiritual covering.
  2. To quietly contemplate the “Basis” for a moment before we declare the Resolution amidst other brothers, a pastor, spiritual leader, godly mentor, or a spiritually mature or older brother, for accountability and spiritual covering.
  3. For brothers currently single, to consider a quiet preface before they declare the resolution under  Home such as : “If or when I have a family as the LORD wills,…”
  4. To pause after each item for men to catch their breadths and contemplate what is declared.
  5. To lovingly challenge ourselves to “follow through” our Manhood Resolution in 4 simple steps :
  1. To memorise and pray over key verses Col 1:27 and 1 Cor 16:13 over the next few days.
  2. To humbly ask God in prayer for His power and wisdom to live out the Resolution practically.
  3. To share with brothers of kindred spirit (and also with our families for those married) for prayer and accountability over what we have declared and practical goals we have set.
  4. To have the Resolution visibly displayed to remind ourselves of the resolutions we have made.
